Shirley A. Sutton
Shirley A. Sutton, 80, of Silver Creek died
Tuesday (Jan. 17, 2012) at the TLC Lakeshore
Hospital, Irving, N.Y. Shirley was born on Oct. 29,
1931 in Buffalo, N.Y., the daughter of the late Wallace
and Martha (Gunther) Britt. She married Harry L.
Sutton on August 25, 200l in Dunkirk, N.Y.
Shirley worked as a waitress and a cook for local
restaurants in the Silver Creek area. She was a
member of the Silver Chapter #288 of the Order of
the Eastern Star and the Silver Creek TOPS.
She was an avid bingo player, enjoyed reading
and crocheting and was a former Cub Scout den
mother and leader for Troop 252 Mt. Carmel Church
in Silver Creek. She especially liked spending time
with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 10 years,
Harry L. Sutton; three daughters: Martha (Tom)
Colder of Waldorf, Md.; Kathleen Tamutis of Buffalo,
N.Y., and Cynthia (Don)Wisneiski of Erie, Pa.; five
sons: Henry (Patty)Bertino of Silver Creek; Richard
Bertino, Las Vegas, NV; Dennis Bertino of Irving, N.Y,;
Dale Bertino of Brocton, N.Y.;and Thomas (Pam)
Bertino of Silver Creek; 12 grandchildren; 13 great
grandchildren; and one brother, Edward Britt of Fla.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased
by her previous husband, Henry Bertino, Sr., and two
brothers, Robert and Jack Britt.
Friends may call on Friday (Jan. 20, 2012) from
2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel
160 Central Ave. Silver Creek, N.Y. where a funeral
service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev.
Michael Leamon officiating. There will be a Silver
Chapter #288 of the Eastern Star Service Friday at
7:30 p.m.
