Concetta M. "Connie" Borrello
     Concetta M. "Connie" Borrello, 91, of Silver
Creek died Wednesday (Feb. 1, 2012) at the TLC Lake
Shore Nursing Home in Irving, N.Y.
 She was born Jan.
1, 1921 in Sharon, Pa., the daughter of the late Frank
and Nora (Gramaldi) Flitt.
       Connie worked as a seamstress and inspector for
the former Van Raalte Mftg., and cooked and cleaned
for the Powers Hotel, both in Silver Creek, NY. She also
was employed by the Shellaward Farms in Sheridan, NY
for many years.
       Connie was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel
R.C. Church in Silver Creek, where she participated in
the Mt. Carmel Social Club and the Rosary Altar Society.
       She and her husband George were very active in
the Village of Silver Creek. George was the mayor from
1984 to 1987 and Connie was the First Lady of Silver
Creek during that period. Connie's interests included
sewing, gardening, working in the yard and baking.
Known for her
Italian cookies and breads, she especially
enjoyed her grandchildren.
       Surviving are two sons, Anthony (Deanna) Borrello
and Frank (Margaret) Borrello, both of Silver Creek; and
seven grandchildren, George M.
(Kelly) Borrello, Lisa M. Borrello, Susan E. (Terry)
Skarzenski, Mark Rowland, Brenda (Mickey) Rosenlund,
Frank (Jennifer) Borrello and Dawn (Greg) Elias.
Seventeen great grandchildren, three great great
grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews also
survive.
       In addition to her parents, she was preceded in
death by her husband of 47 years, George S. Borrello;
and three sisters, Minnie Christopher, Louise (Borrello)
Randazzo and Jeanette Zappie.
       Prayers will be held Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 at 9:30
a.m. from the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel in Silver
Creek, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.
in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Silver Creek.
Interment will be in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Silver
Creek. The family
will be present today from 4-8 p.m.
