Helen H. Cady Strong
Helen H. Cady Strong, 96, of Ocean, N.J., formerly
of Silver Creek and Derby, N.Y., died peacefully at the
Jersey Shore Center, Eatonville, N.J., on Sunday, Oct. 30,
2011. She was born Oct. 20, 1915 in Perrysburg, N.Y.,
the daughter of the late Walter B. and Hazel (Hacker)
Hayward.
Mrs. Strong was a graduate of Gowanda High School
and the Crown Business School in Buffalo, N.Y. She
worked as a buyer for 15 years for Forbes & Wagner,
Silver Creek and as a buyer for the West Seneca
Developmental Center for another 15 years. In addition,
throughout many of those years, she was a waitress at
Roof's Restaurant in Silver Creek.
Helen belonged to the Lighthouse of Praise full
gospel church, a daily reader of the Holy Bible and a
woman who looked forward to meeting her Lord in her next
life. Throughout her life, she enjoyed pursuing various
hobbies, including knitting, oil painting, china painting,
quilting and making jewelry.
Helen is survived by three daughters, Annette Cady
(Richard) Caccamise, Marian Cady Kingan and Janice
Cady McNichol (Harold) Pierce; six grandchildren, Richard
(Teresa) Caccamise, Kevin (Laura) Caccamise, Andrew
(Jill) Caccamise, Jennifer Kingan Mascio, Heather Kingan
and Michael (Steven Butcher) Kingan; and 12 great
grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was prede-ceased by
her husband, Alan Strong; her twin sister, Marian Stewart
Carson; and her grandson, Mark McNichol.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the
Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave., Silver
Creek, N.Y., on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011 from 4-7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the Funeral Chapel on
Friday, Nov. 4, 2011 at 11 a.m. Pastor Flora Ann Sikora of
the Lighthouse of Praise, Dunkirk, N.Y., will officiate.
Interment will be at the Versailles Cemetery. Memorials in
Helen's memory may be made to the American Cancer
Society or Roswell Cancer Center.
