Mary S. DeRider, 95, formerly of Fredonia, passed
away Thursday (Oct. 27, 2011) at the Lake Shore Nursing
Home in Irving, NY.
 She was born Nov. 7, 1915 in Dunkirk
to John and Rose (Kendeler) Heiderman.
       A lifelong area resident, Mary worked as a
seamstress for Van Raalte Mftg. in Silver Creek and the
Harmon Brothers in Westfield, NY.
       Mary enjoyed sewing, painting, landscape pictures
and listening to music, especially Lawrence Welk and Big
Bands. She was an avid reader.
       Survivors include three nieces, Gloria Wells of Silver
Creek, Beverly Fisk of Fredonia and Ruth Karin of
Dunkirk; two nephews, Rudolph Brown of Brocton and
James Heiderman of Dunkirk; and several great nieces
and nephews.
       In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by
her husband of 60 years, Henry E. DeRider; two sisters,
Rose Brown and Margaret Price; three brothers,
Frederick, John and Frank Heiderman; and a nephew,
Dale Price.
       Graveside services will be held Thursday, Nov. 3,
2011 at 11 a.m. from the Willowbrook Park Cemetery in
Dunkirk. Fr. Daniel Fiebelkorn will officiate.
